Nursery Garden Opening

Letham Primary Nursery team were delighted to open their ‘wee playground’ to their children, families and friends on 2 May 2016.

Alison Dowe, Community Champion for Dobbies cut the ribbon declaring the new garden and play area open.

Nursery children and staff supported by Derek Briggs (janitor) have developed the concrete playground into a more child friendly area which will be predominately used by the youngest children at Letham.

This is phase one of Letham Primary School grounds makeover, made possible by being successful in securing a ‘Bags for Help’ grant

Tesco teamed up with greenspace Scotland to launch its Bags of Help initiative across Scotland. The scheme saw three community groups and projects awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
