World Book Day Week

Never mind celebrating books for a day - we are having fun with reading all week!

We started the week with a Reading focus for our Monday morning Get Together.  Mrs Forbes read some funny parts of the book, Barry Loser Worst School Trip Ever, by Jim Smith - there may be a few requests for this at the end of the day!

Reading is always an important part of our curriculum at Letham but we have managed to plan to fit even more opportunities in to enjoy reading and stories this week:

Reading Challenge for Children – If you complete all the targets you get a reward of some kind. e.g. extra play time

Share a Story Challenge for families; read together for 10 minutes a day - Poster on Website

•Stay & Read Sessions – Thursday from 2.30pm and Friday 9-9.30am

•Bring in a favourite book from tomorrow – listen for the bells and ‘Drop Everything And Read’ – 10 minutes daily

•Share your favourite book or author with your Paired Reading partner on Thursday or Friday.

•Lunchtime story sessions in Room 5, next to Blue Area: Come along and hear a story from Mrs Forbes or Miss Oliver each day this week!

**Please note - we are not having a 'dress up' day this week. The focus is on reading for enjoyment and sharing stories.
